Title: Days of Wine and Roses

This photo was taken on a tabletop in our greenporch one early morning when the light was still diffuse. It took quite a bit of time to collect all the pieces (I was being somewhat finnicky). Then it had to be set up while it was still cool outside. I probably have close to $100 into this but most of the props can be reused. This was my first foray into table-top photography.

I had been wanting to try my hand at table-top photography since seeing some of the great stuff my friend Art was doing. The theme, "Days of Wine and Roses," came to me in pieces. The photo club was having a competition on roses and I wanted to do something different so I placed a rose in a wine glass to see how it looked. I liked it and my mind churned for a day or so and this theme emerged. This photo was done a week later.

Title: Ring Around the Rose'

This setup was intended to have the white background that "Days" has. Instead it looked a little gray until I enhanced the colors and then it changed to a 1950's pastel appliance blue. This was kind of retro but cool so I kept it.

The dark, almost black reflection on the front of the bottle is from the all black studio I put together. I may want to run a white cloth from the light tent to the camera to reduce this blackness on future shots. As it was, this shot was taken with two hot lights, one on either side of the light tent and no other lights on.
