This was my first attempt at using a friends studio and a model of my own choosing.

I wanted to try my hand at portraiture with the look of a painting from the 1600s. Since I was
the easiest subject to find I used me. I was sitting with a dark armoire behind me and a window off to my right. I sent a framed copy to my mother without comment and she thought I looked very ill.

This photo was taken in a makeshift studio using mostly candlelight. While the lens was open the subject closed her eyes resulting in the open/closed eyelids.
This photo just looked cool.
